Motivatia noastra este excelenta, creativitatea si inovatia in arta cinematografica.

BUCHAREST SHORT FILM FESTIVAL (BSFF) is an annual event, designed with and for artists, to offer them a platform of free expression. An independent one.

BSFF is a short film festival that presents and rewards some of the best new international short films in the categories: Animation, Documentary, Human Rights, Experimental, Narrative Film, Fashion, Stop Motion, Student, Music-video, giving priority to independent films, always. Why?

INDEPENDENT, this is the keyword for BSFF. Because the festival was founded and organized by independent film professionals and focuses on independent cinema artists around the world. BSFF is an artistic alternative to what is shown in other festivals in Romania, with the aim of recognizing, presenting and spreading the most professional, innovative and exciting new international short films, always giving priority to independent films.

BSFF presents exceptional content. The multitude of places in the world these short films come from offers an universal perspective over the way we live and feel about the present. The festival invites foreign artists in Romania, for the first time, artists with a new and courageous voice, artists who reflect, through what they create, the perspectives of new generations. And the previous editions of the Festival, proved the authenticity of these statements, in situ. The cinema halls was more-than-full or almost full, evenings in a row, and the fervent applause of the audience accompanied almost all the projected films in BSFF 2016 & 2017 editions.

Our motivation is excellence, creativity and innovation in the cinematic art.
